The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), established in 1966 by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, is a notable institution among the various Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) initiated during a pivotal time when India's economy sought to engage with international markets post-Independence. Since attaining autonomous status in 1998, the GJEPC has solidified its role as the principal authority representing the gems and jewellery industry.

Based in Mumbai, the GJEPC serves nearly 6,000 exporters across the sector and maintains Regional Offices in New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Surat, and Jaipur. This extensive network facilitates close interactions with its members, enabling the council to provide targeted and meaningful support.

Over the years, GJEPC has distinguished itself as one of the most proactive EPCs. It has consistently expanded both its outreach and the scope of its promotional activities while enhancing the range of services available to its members.
